The story of my small business
Hi, I am Maria, 40 year old entrepreneur from Jyväskylä Finland and I am the founder of Yukinor earring brand. Yukinor name comes from a Japanese word "Yuki" meaning "snow" (which we get a lot in Finland) and "Nordics" which means the countries my family lives.
My family has a strong history of entrepreneurship and little by little the idea of starting my own company grew stronger in the background. I have always loved crafts and beautiful things, but to be honest, I never guessed that they would lead me start my own earring brand. Well here I am!
As I am writing this story on 9.6.2025, Yukinor brand has been online for about 5 months now. Yukinor earrings has received an amazing kickstart and welcome from our customers and partners. Thank you so much!
Up until today hundreds of Yukinor earrings have been sold to Finland, and also to Sweden. Eight resellers are selling our products around Finland. Etsy markets and sells Yukinor jewellery in Europe. Every day more and more people found Yukinor social media accounts and visit our webstore. Writing this story feels some how unreal to me considering Yukinor has just only started.

The new style of Nordic design earrings
I had one principle when I started designing the first Yukinor collection (IKI), it had to be something unique and different from everything else on the market at the moment. Not an easy task in market, where there are numerous beautiful jewellery brands. I came up with the idea of an earring brand that can be easily recognized from an unique and beautiful visual style. I combined the visual Yukinor logo with the classic earring designs and minimalistic nordic design, and people have loved it from the very start.
Sustainability is important factor in every business today, and Yukinor is no exception. I have carefully selected the material suppliers and manufacturing partners in a way that the production process is as sustainable as possible and that the earrings are durable, have a long lifetime, and the most important extremely light to wear. After several trials and errors, now the Yukinor earrings are manufactured with highest quality materials acquired from Finnish suppliers.

Do what you love
I have wondered several times, "how did I ended up designing earrings?" I quess the answer is that I have always loved adventures and traveling and it seems that every time a pair of earrings are part of these journeys. You always hear that "You should do what you love", well now I am doing it. Every time a customer writes a positive review for Yukinor earrings, I feel super happy and proud of what I have accomplished.
My mission with Yukinor is to deliver more positive and happy feelings to people and be part of their best adventures and memories. If I succeed in that everyday, all the hard work has payed off big time. My vision for Yukinor is to grow an international earring brand that will be associated with unforgettable adventures and memories.
And now a best thing, when ever I meet people who have bought Yukinor earrings, it seems like they all are having the same positive wibe going on! This is exactly what I wanted when I figured out Yukinor's ideal customer profile.
